Reddit users have thought about movies and tv shows that, although presented as a source of inspiration for women, have proven to be a total disappointment. The "trendy" shows have turned out to be a collection of clichés, stereotypes and illogical acts. These are both old and new films that are now at the heart of the news.

Sex and the City

  • It is essentially a long and beautiful advertisement. We are shown dull, flat and boring characters. They wear designer clothes, which we should all want to buy after seeing them. None of them have pets, parents, brothers and sisters, passions, etc. © pplebubbeline
  • To be honest, in a sense, these tv shows even changed me. Because when I looked at Carrie, I found myself in her features. That's when I realized that I didn't want to be like or behave like her in a relationship. © postcardmap45

Wonder Woman

  • The fact that the main character fell in love with the first man she met and that he was her main motivation during half of the film made me roll my eyes so much that they had trouble returning to their place. To be honest, I didn't read the comic book, so maybe the directors did everything as in the original. But even if they did, I think they should have reviewed the story itself. © corianderisthedevil
  • The  character literally has no idea what the outside world is and yet she feels allowed to tell everyone what they should do. It was obviously not out of intelligence that she acted in this way.© CatEarthSociety

Gilmore Girls

  • Rory and Lorelai are the classic examples of girls like "we are not like others". I liked Rory, but I grew up and understood that being educated doesn't make you better than others. I also realized that Lorelai is a bad mother and that her relationship with her daughter is blurred. Both are very rude and treat the others as less than nothing. Especially women. © Arwynfaun
  • When I was a teenager, I found Rory very cool, and a mother-daughter relationship of this type would not have displeased me either. Growing up, I realized how toxic this duo was. In reality, it's the kind of people we want to get away from. © granscience

Blonde

  • It was as if the director hated Marilyn and wanted to make her look horrible. Before watching it, we thought we would see a fairly faithful biography of Monroe, and Ana de Armas was great. But now, we started watching and turned off after about 10 minutes. It was a disgusting show. © CatEarthSociety
  • The film literally oozes misogyny. We have the impression that the director clearly does not like Marilyn and does not consider her a real person. © ConsistentTip6508

Pretty Woman

  • As a child, I loved this movie, my mother and I watched it often. But when I grew up and realized exactly how women were shown, it no longer seemed so romantic to me. © Amarminalie
  • Yes, yes, when I was a child, I thought it was cool that he arrived in a limousine under his windows and everything. Now, I have a lot of questions about the film. © D-Spornak

Charlie’s angels

  • A band of women in heels and whose breasts came out of under their clothes, beat everyone in the style of Matrix. Thank you, it's not for me. © the-missing-chapter
  • I watched it recently, it's horrible. Girls always seduce everyone to have power - it's just exasperating. When the heroines started dancing bare breasts to get the keys, when anyone could have taken them, I simply turned off the movie. © stolethemorning

Sucker Punch

  • In general, the concept of the film is cool. We could have made a great film with the dark atmosphere of Alice in Wonderland. But instead, we got a weird thing, in the violent style of video games, and it's not pleasant to watch. © digitalkitten1999
  • The only thing I hate more thanSucker Punch is Voyeur. But this may be due to the fact that I watched it so long ago that I don't remember everything. The actresses are good, I have nothing to blame them for, but I can't stand the film itself. © FixerJ

What men think

  • The film talks a lot about the fact that you don't need a man to be happy. And what happens at the end? Several heroines at the same time find themselves with men who are not really interested in them. © LadyShaSha
  • The main character is the most shy woman in the world. She is obviously a caricature of "pathetic" single women. Everyone must have had a friend who behaved like Gigi. Someone who would, for example, read a man's correspondence to know the opinion of his entourage. In those moments, we want to shake her well and tell her: " If he wanted to, he would make an effort!" © dougielou

Captain Marvel

  • I don't like heroine being made "strong" and "competent" only at the expense of the useless men around her. If you need an "ely" companion to make you more attractive, it's because you're not really so handsome. Here, they do the same thing. © Linorelai
  • Why can't a woman be a superhero? Why must she be a female version of a male superhero? We have the impression that a woman is not a person in their own right, but an extension or a female version of a man. © sleepy-yodels
