“Anti-aging begins when you stop washing your face in running water”According to Seoul dermatologist.(I tried — it’s insane):
  1. When she said it, I thought it was superstition. But her reasoning was biological: running water strips the skin’s electric charge. Tap water in most cities contains chlorine and heavy minerals that break the skin’s lipid film — the microscopic barrier that keeps collagen hydrated and immune cells alert.
  2. “Never let the water hit your skin directly,” she said. Instead, fill a bowl or basin, let it sit for 30 seconds — that pause lets chlorine evaporate and minerals neutralize. Then use your hands or a cloth to rinse your face gently in still water.
  3. Korean dermatology clinics actually measure “skin voltage” — a marker of cell activity. After switching to still water, patients’ readings rose by up to 18%, meaning their skin cells held charge longer and inflammation dropped. Translation: tighter, calmer, more oxygenated skin.
  4. The effect compounds. When you wash under running water, your skin goes from alkaline → acidic → alkaline in seconds. That constant pH shock is what dulls glow and accelerates thinning over years. Stopping that cycle lets your microbiome — the bacteria that defend against aging — finally stabilize.
  5. She said: “Your skin doesn’t age. It just gets tired of rebuilding.” Now I fill a bowl twice a day. No fancy serums, no ten-step routines — just still water, patience, and skin that finally looks alive again. Check more secrets in my bio.

Untrue. New pic of me at 75 using tap water all my life.

I have not done a damn thing to my face, including not washing it unless there’s something on it, my whole life. No soaps, no serums, no moisturizers, no products. I turned 45 this year. I have rosacea so I sometimes use a cream for that. The less you use, the better off you’ll be in my opinion. Convincing women we have to support a whole industry to be better looking is absurd.

Is this why people in Renaissance paintings all look dewy and youthful, because they washed their faces with pitchers and still basins 😭

Brb going back to the well.Does chlorine evaporate from water in 30 seconds?

Stop it. The men are already refusing to wash their butts. This isn’t helping.

Just embrace you’re supposed to age- it shall be well

I think it has some truth in it. When I lived in the mountains with water coming directly from the crystal clear sources, and not treated, my skin and hair were incredible. And ever since, I only wash my face with mineral water and the difference is bizarre.

I’ve always used running water. And I am an energy healer so my hands are on autopilot and my bathroom routines are my special beauty healing times. So my body knows what time it is when I get in that bathroom. It’s also what you eat and how you’ve prepared it. I am in my 40s and people swear I’m in my 20s…still. 😘

I guess that’s why my wiping with a washcloth works (with no soap ). Skin is 9/10

Living in FL, switching to washing my face with spring water I get from the store has been life changing. I've been doing it for about a year now, & I barely get acne now. I just had a feeling, I felt like the water was drying me out. Come to find out a few months after I made the switch that FL has a lot of lead pipes that have yet to be swapped out 🫠 especially in older houses.

Humans are so obsessed with anti aging. Just do your best to be born black or asian, then your age stays a mystery forever.

I’ve never heard this before but I’ve also never washed my face with running water.

I wash my face with a wet white washcloth - that’s it.

The only product I use is my own handcrafted serum and micelar water. Once a month I use a facial exfoliator.
