British Airways Cabin Crew Manager Arrested for Multiple Sex Crimes

A British Airways cabin crew manager has been arrested by Thames Valley Police for allegedly committing several sex crimes dating back to 2018. Amardip Dhariwal, who managed short-haul flights for BA across Europe, faces charges of two counts of rape and three counts of assault by penetration. Dhariwal, 52, has been dismissed from his position at the Heathrow-based airline following the accusations, which reportedly occurred in Berkshire and two locations outside the UK.

This incident follows other recent allegations involving British Airways staff. Last week, a BA pilot was suspended after reportedly assaulting three female crew members during a drunken altercation in Johannesburg. The pilot had been traveling with his partner on a discounted ticket, and the situation escalated after a confrontation with crew members, leading to the cancellation of the flight.

In earlier cases, another senior BA pilot was accused of sexual assault during a layover in Singapore in April 2023. Additionally, in March 2023, a British businessman in Barbados was charged with sexually assaulting a female BA crew member during a luxury layover on the island.

I submitted an application for the Emirates cabin crew. Does anyone know why Emirates reject most of cabin crew applications? I have been rejected a lot and I don’t know why. That's so frustrating.

One thing I have learned that to get hired as a cabin crew you only need one thing that is LUCK . Also remember one thing the recruiter will never say that it’s not about luck they will find a reason to tell you and an experienced crew will say the same .

On a nutshell you need to be lucky and right I am in a verge to change my career and I am not enjoying and I will never enjoy my current career .

If you are talking about the initial application process then it all depends on the stuff that the ATS has been programmed to look for. HR puts various keywords in this ATS. Read more about what ATS is if you aren't familiar with it. Let's say they put up an ad for cabin crew in Italy. Then they for example will put in Italian speakers, Italian national, age preference, gender, and height preference. Then ATS will also look for keywords in your resume. For example customer service, teamwork, problem-solving, communication, decision-making, adaptability, and more. The photos are super important too. Make sure they look professional and that you smile in your photos. By professional I don’t mean to get them done in a studio but to look professional. Sometimes it is not the candidate's fault they keep getting rejected, it is the ATS that is filtering you out based on certain stuff that you perhaps aren't even aware of.

Since you mentioned “keep rejecting", I am presuming the interview sessions(or whatever is the process of selection) were numerous & not one. So ask them, be confident. Why do they reject “most” applications? Probably because they receive far more applications than they have vacancies.

In some businesses, they receive more than a hundred applications for a single position. So the successful ones really have to stand out. Having prior cabin crew experience with a reputable airline is obviously going to be a good point, and I’ll bet they get quite a lot of those.

You will never know exactly why they chose somebody else. They just felt that another person had slightly more to offer the job than you. It could be as simple as they had an extra year experience or they were big fans of the same sports club as the interviewer. It doesn't matter.

My strong suspicion is that you were too close to the assessment day. I have hired many, many people in different disciplines through the years, and applications received in a timely fashion - i.e., in plenty of time - get priority.

From time-to-time Emirates will do a blanket advert for cabin crew. In almost every case the interviews will be held in Dhaka. And, for ‘distance’ initial interviews, it will most likely be online via ‘Zoom’ or similar.

However, I must warn you that the entrance applications are comprehensive and exhaustive.

Just as one point; you will need to state, in writing, in English, why you feel you are qualified for the position. You must have full command of the written English language. I write this because it would appear that you are struggling in composition. For example: Your dream is not to be a cabin crew. Your interest is in becoming a cabin crew member. Secondly, you do not desire to work under Emirates. Your goal is to become part of the Emirates Cabin Crew family, or to serve as Cabin Crew for Emirates.

And to directly answer your question; no, your interview will not be in Dubai. Your training would commence in Dubai should you be successful in your application.

Please be aware that Emirates have a vast number of applicants. Accordingly, they seek out the best of the best, with the highest of skills, both in application and communication. They’re looking for dedicated team workers who are not only friendly and professional, but have a strong commitment to serve.

And most importantly, a cabin crew member’s primary reason for being on the aircraft is safety! You must be able to work both as a team, and when required independently in dealing with emergencies. Along with your advanced swimming skills, you will have to demonstrate strength and ability to move large objects, such as moving a body out of the aisle in an emergency to help facilitate the speedy evacuation of an aircraft, and you must possess a commanding voice to direct passengers towards exits.

Knowing a few phrases in Arabic would also be a plus. And, being able to present a cogent and fluid presentation on the history of Emirates, as well as on the history of Dubai and the Emirates, including the name of the ruler of Dubai would also impress the team conducting your interview.

If you feel you are lacking in any of these skill sets I would encourage you to consider other avenues of personal growth such as the hospitality industry.
