How does Kate Middleton manage to stay so slim?

How does Kate Middleton stay so thin? What does she eat in a typical day?

The Duchess of Cambridge followed the Dukan diet in the days leading up to her marriage to Prince William . I haven't heard from her on this particular diet anymore, but she does follow a very clean and healthy diet. Breakfast can be a green smoothie or muesli with fruit on top. Lunch could be a green salad with lean protein like chicken or salmon and dinner is usually grilled vegetables with still lean protein. Kate doesn't really snack. She drinks a lot of water and tea, unsweetened of course.

If Catherine decides to have an alcoholic drink, it could be a small glass of wine. And there are cheat days, of course, and she'll go eat pizza or puddings. But only on special days or when Kate feels like a good curry. Raw foods are the ones she eats by default, and it shows!

The other factor that keeps Kate so slim is sports. Lots of sport. At least an hour in the morning, and sometimes followed by a walk with Prince Louis in the stroller, or chasing after George and Charlotte. I read that the Duchess likes to work on her sheathing. Light weights also help. A few tennis matches could fit into his busy schedule. She is a very good athlete.

And Catherine comes from a very sporty family, which likes to go out. They ski, hike, cycle (Pippa loves to cycle through London) and Kate played many sports at school. In college, she would get up early (a habit she still has) and go for a run before class started.

Lots of sleep is essential for staying slim. I know the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are early risers, so they probably go to bed an hour or two after their three kids have fallen asleep. Fresh air, good sleep, clean meals with plenty of water, and exercise help keep Duchess Kate in a very enviable shape.

It does not appear to me that there is any evidence of hostility between the two. Vanity Fair suggests the two princes and women share a bundle message. E Online indicates that Kate and Meghan are doing well. Nothing indicates that Kate hates Meghan. We can say that these two women with very different origins are not natural friends, but that's all we can say.1.8k  viewsShow 7  positive votes ·

I can't think of a reason Catherine would be jealous of Meghan. Both are attractive, both have an excellent education, both marry a prince.

But Catherine married her first true love, a man she has known since 2001. A friendship that turned into a true love, they spent years letting him grow and making sure she knew what was a member of the royal family, with the tabloids and the workload. They had a beautiful marriage and have three beautiful children, Catherine is part of the family and seems to be well loved. Twenty years later still in love. And she will be queen and her William will be king. Catherine is charming all the time. I see no reason why Catherine would be jealous

Prince William and Kate Middleton are they right to be appalled by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey?

Victor livera

Deanna eppers  have read over twenty-five books on the royal familyThis answer may not be an accurate translation of Deanna Eppers' answer in Quora in English  :Are Prince William and Kate Middleton right to be "appalled" by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey?

Yes ! Absolutely. Catherine and Prince William never signed up for this part of duty and public service when they got married. Supporting a sad, crazy, jealous and attention-loving sister-in-law was not what they signed on for, and what makes it so sad is that Meghan could have chosen to go quietly and quietly to enjoy his privacy in the United States. Choosing to be interviewed about her royal experience after being a member of the Royal Family for less than two years, Meghan chooses to hurt not only Catherine, but Prince William as well, and possibly the Queen, Prince Philip and even Prince Charles.

I read that the Duchess of Cambridge was criticized on the Oprah show, and I am sad that Meghan is publicly making people question the personality of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge. Killing a character (figuratively speaking) isn't fun to do when it's not warranted, and from everything I've read, Catherine is a genuine, kind, thoughtful, lovable, and caring person. . If Meghan has decided to go after the woman she is probably the most jealous of in the world, it is a sad thing for everyone involved.

By definition, narcissists have a grandiose sense of their own importance, they live in a whimsical world that supports their sense of greatness, they need constant praise and admiration, they feel they are owed their best. shamelessly exploit others and they frequently belittle, intimidate or belittle others.

The story of Meghan speaking horribly to Catherine's assistants is recognized, as is the incident involving Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress, where Meghan screamed, said the word 'Fuck' to a child of three years, and all this made Catherine cry. Of course, the Palace tried to limit the damage caused by an out of control Meghan. And of course, this story is starting to get leaked again, because no holds barred now.

Prince William is protective of his wife, so he probably hurts for her, feeling bad that by becoming a member of the royal family, Catherine signed on for a royal life of duty and public service, but she never signed up to deal with a mean American woman who wanted to be the most popular royal woman with all the attention on her. I would say they were both scalded by Meghan and Harry.

Do you think Meghan Markle is a gold digger?

Daniel Borja

Former Journalist ( 1983 - 2014 )

Simple question and complex answer to define! In absolute terms, we can consider that all the people outside the Windsor family and who revolve around it, whether they are aristocrats or commoners, are potentially profiteers ... Indeed, whatever we may think of it. , the British royal family exerts a form of fascination, in the first place on a large part of the subjects of the Crown, but also well beyond the borders of the United Kingdom. Consequently, benefiting from the possibility of forming a personal relationship with one or one of his representatives may be considered a form of privilege.

Those who are already spoiled by fortune will gain additional prestige on an individual basis (which is always good to take!). And those who come from more modest backgrounds (everything is relative, of course…), if they show themselves to be skilful, can find the opportunity to climb a few additional steps in the social ladder. Because attending a "royal", well no, it is not given to everyone! This family is as rich as it is influential.

So of course, I guess the "royal children" (boys or girls) are like everyone else: they want to live their life like everyone else, including their love life. And I guess when you're pretty well placed in the order of accession to the throne of England, young women have to turn you around! In such a context, how do you know, for the main person concerned, if you are loved for yourself or for what you represent? For the solid gold social status that you will bring in the wedding basket ?

Before either taking a wife, I suppose Princes William and Harry must have matured their decision for a long time. Even if I am not one of those who scrutinize, through the interposed press, the slightest deeds and gestures of the sons of the late Princess Diana, I think I remember that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle had to wait a while before to be able to be led to the altar by their charming princes. And they were probably not the first contenders.

So… True love or interest in all that glitters? The question could have arisen for any of these suitors, and I will be careful not to try to play guesswork ... However, even when you are a young "well-born" woman who has received a perfect education, the one that allows you to have tea with Queen Elizabeth without risking the slightest misstep (literally or figuratively), marrying a future king (or his younger brother) does not have to go without some constraints. Starting with scrupulous respect for protocol rules which, from the outside, seem very heavy! And the fact that you don't really belong to yourself anymore, you are literally living under the gaze of the world!

For what I think, a high dose of motivation must be necessary to integrate such a universe ... And for Meghan Markle to be qualified as "profiteer", there still has to be something to profit! What good is living in a palace if it is to be overwhelmed by constraints? Maybe that's why she persuaded her prince to take a step back. And also the proof that she really loves him, even after deprived of part of his royal advantages .

Why is Meghan Markle hated while Kate Middleton is worshiped?

C. Lang Electrical EngineerThis answer may not be an accurate translation of C. Lang's answer in Quora in English  :

Why is Meghan Markle hated while Kate Middleton is adulated?

I dispute the premise of the question. I don't think the Duchess of Sussex (Meghan Markle) is hated in Britain. There might be people who hate her, but it's not the majority of the British public, as far as I know.

On the contrary, she is heavily criticized by the press - but I don't necessarily call this hate.

I pose the following reasons for this:

  • Catherine went through the same thing before marrying William - their relationship had its ups and downs, and they courted each other for so long that the British press dubbed her "Waity Katie" (Katie, the patient). I remember reading many articles speculating on her motives, that her mother was a manipulative schemer whose sole purpose was to marry Catherine to a prince, that Catherine wanted to be another Diana, that the Middletons were commoners considered not good enough to be royalty, that William preferred the Middleton family to his own, that Pippa was jealous, that she stole the show, etc. The pre-relationship between Catherine and William lasted long enough to dispel all this nonsense around Catherine, and when
  • By comparison, Meghan's pre-relationship was short, she was American, and her past was unlike any member of British royalty before her. People felt like Harry just hadn't known her long enough before they married her, and the fact that she wasn't of royal, or even British, blood probably confused some.
  • The fact that Meghan is not British also means that the press is quite obsessed with how she is adjusting (or not) and how she gets along with everyone in the family. She's probably a lot more watched for that reason alone.
  • Meghan's family drama also keeps her in a negative light, although she did not cause it and has remained silent about it, not responding (at least publicly) to attacks from her family.

I think it's more due to Meghan being the newest member of the royal family, not being British, facing family drama caused by some pretty clingy people, and her before -relationship was short-lived. The tabloids do to her pretty much what they did with Catherine, except in her case, there's probably a lot more to work on than there was with Catherine.

However, Catherine has now been married for seven years, the marriage appears to be happy and strong, she has three attractive children who are well cared for and appear happy, and she has not aroused public controversy due to her words or actions. - so we can't really say much about her anymore. Since his marriage, she granted the press nothing but silent public appearances and occasional family photo ops. With no fresh news to fill the press, she is history, and her place in the royal family is assured. Everything there is to say about Catherine has been said, there is nothing worth posting except that she has had horrible pregnancy experiences that leave her in the dark in bed and now is the time to move on to the next victim.

Give her another two years and maybe another baby, and you won't read much about Meghan either, especially since William will likely be closer to the throne and therefore be the one to keep the press busy.

The Duchess of Cambridge followed the Dukan Diet in the days leading up to her marriage to Prince William. I haven't heard of her following this particular diet anymore, but she does follow a very clean and healthy diet. Breakfast can be a green smoothie or muesli with fruit on top. Lunch could be a green salad with lean protein like chicken or salmon and dinner is usually grilled vegetables with lean protein again. Kate doesn't really snack. She drinks a lot of water and tea, unsweetened of course.

What shocked you the most about Kate Middleton?

What shocked me the most about Kate Middleton? That she loved Prince William so much that Catherine (she prefers his full name to its short form, from what I've read) married him, knowing that she would become the center of attention, that her life private would be public and would be analyzed and scrutinized. That's real love.

The Duchess of Cambridge is a very low-key person and is perfectly happy not to be in the spotlight. She may have introverted tendencies, which is normal, but it can make the days grueling and tiring.… (more)

I've never done a diet in my whole life, I'm far too epicurean to submit to a dietary tyranny like 150gr of chicken breast / endive / 0% yogurt.

Might as well graze the grass in my garden and gnaw on a bone.

No, culinary art is not just about cooking rich foods with high-calorie ingredients. The art of transforming a food into a good dish is even more spectacular with fat-free and calorie-free raw materials. Why is Elizabeth II's state of health worrying?

Probably because Prince Charles, in spite of himself, would ensure that he was the last king of Great Britain , a country created in 1710 with the Act of Union (of the English and Scottish parliaments). Apart from displaying below average intelligence (according to his low English equivalent baccalaureate grade), his speeches throughout his life testify to a person who was unaware of the fate of British commoners.

The Queen did not want to hand over the reins of the dynasty to her eldest son, Prince Charles (seventies) and forced herself to stay… (more)

I don't believe in weight loss diets anymore. They have all proven their ineffectiveness. On the other hand, I believe in the "" way of life " in its totality.

Unlike a strict diet that makes you lose weight in the short term, a healthy lifestyle favoring physical activity, good fats, organic fruits and vegetables and fish contributes to holistic health.

Avoid as much as possible industrialized food, cosmetics stuffed with endocrine disruptors, and believe me they are everywhere! Letting go once in a while doesn't have to cause guilt. All… (more)

Can we eat a banana at night to lose weight?

We've all been taught that it's bad for our health to eat fruit at night, especially bananas, and we just followed that rule, not thinking where it came from. We never wondered why eating bananas at night is bad. Considered one of the most nutritious fruits, the banana is full of nutrients and minerals that are good for the human body. I'll tell you why people have this preconception with bananas and even with citrus fruits.

What is the best weight loss diet?

I lost 13 kilos last year after following the advice of a nutritionist.

To lose weight, there are two aspects to take into account: the nutritional aspect (what we have on our plate) and the psychological aspect (why do I snack so much? Is it to compensate for a discomfort?)

Often, the psychological aspect is overlooked. However, its relationship with food is often linked to psychological reasons. We find comfort in food.

As far as the nutritional aspect is concerned, you have to work on both the content and the quantity. In my case, I have r… (more)

For those who don't know, the Dubrows are a couple (man and woman) who have developed a technique to observe intermittent fasting , ie time-limited fasting.

I agree that Catherine beats Meghan hands down in the looks department. However Catherine is painfully thin, not a good example to other young women.

Her look verges on the anorexic and she needs to gain a stone or so to get herself looking a bit more healthy. The stick insect body image is not good and she needs to get some curves to make her look a bit more ‘womanly’.

Kate Middleton lost so much weight. She looks skeletal. Does she have an eating disorder?

C. Lang

Catherine is thin but not skeletal.

This is skeletal:

This is a recent picture of Catherine:

I think genetics helps but she obviously is very careful with what she eats at a minimum, and being a future Queen Consort is no doubt putting pressure on her to stay as thin and as glamourous as long as possible. She probably doesn’t eat a lot in addition to her natural tendency to be slim.

I can see why people think she is

anorexic. Most people get heavier and rounder as they age, particularly women who have had children, but Catherine has gone the other way. And, as a highly visible (female) member of the royal family, she undoubtedly is under a lot of pressure to remain glamorous. But to me, I don’t believe she has an eating disorder. She appears to be pretty healthy and energetic—in public she always looks alert and poised. Someone who is anorexic wouldn’t have much energy, and they wouldn’t look healthy—see the first picture of the model above. They’d be run down, tired, sick a lot, and they would have unhealthy hair and skin. But Catherine isn’t any of those things from what I can see. Catherine hasn’t ever skipped an event that she and William had to attend due to illness or fatigue that I’m aware of, and the only times she’s been reported ill were when she was pregnant. In her public appearances she doesn’t look like she is ill or tired at all to me, and she doesn’t look like someone who is suffering from an eating disorder—her skin coloring and texture/tone is healthy looking and her arms, while thin, are toned and not bones with skin and no fat or muscle layer like an anorexic’s arms would be. Her hair is thick and healthy looking. The illness she had during her pregnancies probably made it hard for her to eat properly, and that maybe could account for her weight being down.

I have heard that Catherine may be stressed out, particularly with regard to Harry and Meghan’s leaving and the Oprah interview and the ensuing effect on Buckingham Palace. She has to deal with a husband and an father-in-law who are stressed and saddened or angry about it. Some people eat when they are stressed, but Catherine may be the type of person who doesn’t eat when stressed out, so if she isn’t eating, she’s going to lose weight.

So my personal opinion, for what it’s worth, is that no, Catherine is probably not anorexic—but she eats just enough and not more than that to maintain the energy she needs to do what she needs to do in life which is to make public appearances and raise three children. At worst she might be obsessed with keeping her weight down due to the pressures of being a royal in the spotlight to the point of going too far down the weight scale (I’ve seen some pictures of her where she definitely should not have gotten that thin), or she might not be eating because of stress, but I don’t think she has an eating disorder.

Leaving their marriages aside, why does Kate Middleton get along with the royal family so much better than Diana did?

Dani Camporelli

Freelance Writer, Mostly Short Fiction (1991–present)1y

because kate middleton is a very different bird than Diana was. kate came from an upper middle class family, with her mum grooming her since she was little, to eventually bag a prince.

and kate is probably more emotionally stable than Diana was. and far less fragile. and William chose her, and she wasn’t sloppy seconds to some older, uglier slut he was still shagging even though she was married to someone else, like Prince Charles. So Kate never had to deal with that load of shite when she got with William.

Diana walked into a horror. her fiance still clearly in love with Camilla, but the royal family not approving of her as marriage material, so forcing him to find someone more wholesome, without a reputation. Hence Diana. Far younger than Charles. So naive at the time. Like a lamb to the slaughter. Although she did realise the dysfunctional shitstorm she walked into fairly soon, as she was far from stupid.

And because Diana had to face so much bullshit with the whole Charles and Camilla thing, along with the coldness of the other royals, who held it against her for being upset by Charles and his frequent visits with Camilla, and Diana acting out because of it, that was obviously going to create a strain between poor Diana and the rest of the royals. And Charles treated her appallingly. Just appallingly. Allowing Camilla to constantly flit around Diana, just no discretion at all, in fact, it was rubbed in her face. Camilla inviting Diana to lunch, purely to let Diana know just how much she knew about Charles. Sickening, that.

Diana was also more fragile, and more prone to mental health issues than Kate, the latter whom often appears as an anorexic Stepford wife who is happy to have no opinion on anything or show any emotion in public, which the royals love. Diana was far more real, and she wore her heart on her sleeve, and the royals saw her as a huge liability, and Charles was fiercely jealous over the fact the press, and the public, adored Diana, and weren’t too bothered about him, and he blamed Diana for it.

I recently finished watching The Crown, and I could only watch it in short spurts, because it was just so sickening how the royal family behaved at times. Just horrid people, least how they were portrayed in the series, and frankly, I tend to believe it.

So it’s not exactly a compliment to say that Kate fits in so much better with a group of highly unpleasant, ridiculously snobbish, out of touch and insular people who have the capacity to be incredibly cruel at times.

I have severe anger and because of this, many disrespectful people, most notably Quora commenters tend to set me off. How do I not retaliate?

the most insane, idiotic quora commenters, imo, are the ones who are pro-royal family. you say the slightest thing about a royal that they don’t like, and they write a bloody essay in response. i’ve been scolded for calling kate middleton kate instead of catherine. and i’ve been gang attacked for saying she looked anorexic.

best thing to do with fanatics like this is to just ignore them, because you’ll never get anywhere with them. total waste of time.

if you want to “retaliate,” that’s simple. just post things that you know will wind them up even more. if you don’t want to retaliate, have some self control and don’t. it’s that simple. you know the saying “just do it?” how about “just don’t.”

I don't know her specific I don't know her specific diet probably has good genetics she could be exercising that burns calories and probably not eating a lot of empty calories more protein healthy fats and less carbohydrates is kind of simple but most people's metabolism is not great so they have to tweak it a little bit but it seems like resistance training I notice of the ladies at the gym girls or whatever if they just do the treadmill they don't usually lose too much weight alone but when they do the resistance training with lowering down the amount minutes on the elliptical treadmill excetera they start getting more more training I guess I don't stare at every woman especially not nowadays I think you have to do some kind of strength training or resistance training I mean but some people take it too far I see people look anorexic or bulimic one girl I almost felt sorry for it must have been some type of mental problem she was on the treadmill anytime I went to this LA Fitness for like 2 hours the whole time I was there she was on the treadmill before and after she didn't look healthy at all real skinny but not the pretty sketch was pretty but she was getting that sickly look I think you have to make moderation in life but one other thing is I'm not saying for you I meant in general I know a lot of people that in the first couple months of the keto diet they lost weight but I don't think you should stay on it long the keto strict keto but I knew a bunch of people in North Jersey lost weight in relatively short amount of time with the keto diet but after long-term doesn't seem they don't look too healthy maybe I'm overanalyzing it I don't know

This may be insensitive, but why do people with EDs want to be so thin? Don’t they realize how unattractive/unhealthy society views them? Seems contradicting.

my son was always lean until a few years ago, and then he had put on some weight. he wasn’t fat, but he was overweight. and he started to get bullied by a so called friend for it. little shit.

anyway, he’s lost the weight and now he looks quite thin. to the point that the other day, i looked at him, his middle mainly, and i asked him to lift up his shirt because i wanted to see if he has lost too much weight.

i had also noticed for several months that he would often only eat around a third of his dinner. but i didn’t say much about it.

anyway, he looked normal. and i said to him “you don’t need to lose any more weight now, you look good now. and looking skeletal is not a good look.”

and he says to me “mum, i’m not that stupid.”

and i thought, fair point. he’s not.

no offence to anyone with an ED.

but to answer you, people with an ED view themselves as overweight, when they are stick thin. so it’s a mental illness, really. it’s like the really pretty girl who thinks she’s really ugly and is not just attention seeking. she really believes it.

kate moss once said, and she’s a fucking idiot for saying this, “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” shame on her. least now she’s an old has been.

but we need to get rid of magazines featuring models who are a size 0. it’s ridiculous. we need to stop bombarding youth with images of perfection.

people constantly compliment Kate Middleton for how lean she is, but the woman looks anorexic to me, always has done. and being praised for looking that way is pretty sickening.

so society also feeds this. no pun intended.

Why did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle return to England, but Prince William won't see them again?

Danny Mertens

Historian/Art Specialist. Ex-Pr.Mgr. (Pharma) >1.7M views. Sep 5

There are a few things that are in play here. Harry and Meghan are in the UK for a number of charities with which Harry is linked. So their presence is normal.

Harry has problems with William, and his father, for a number of very valid reasons. William’s wife, the semi anorexic golddigger Kate Middleton is elevated by the British pulp press to semi sainthood. Everything she does is great. That’s all that William sees. Don’t forget that the Windsors are not the super clever royals which a lot of people think they are. They are mediocre at best.

As soon as Meghan came into the picture she was attacked by the pulp press. Even when she copied Kate she got abused. Harry, who hasn’t forgotten what happened to his mother, i.e. murdered upon request of the British royal family, does not want his wife to die in the same way. William on the other hand has accepted these events and is fully on the side of the culprits, i.e. his grandmother and his father. For him a scandalfree crown is worth a lot more than the truth.

So Harry, whose Memoirs will come out in a few weeks, has decided to put all the shit on the table, which of course is exactly what cleaner-than-clean brother and his saintly wife want to avoid.

Do "naturally skinny" people naturally eat less, while heavier people mindlessly eat more?

Taylor Hall

· Follow

homeowner1y

No. Do people with small feet get their small feet because they ate less, and people with big feet mindlessly grew their feet bigger? If they go on a diet, or if the small feet people worked on gaining weight, could they all achieve uniformity?

No. You can affect your foot size, by having your feet swell, or gaining/losing weight. But it’s not going to change the fundamentals. You have to be comfortable with people having different body types (and shoe sizes), and not expect that there’s a magic answer to achieving a personal or societal desire for uniformity in bodies.

I have a malabsorption disorder, so I was naturally skinny as a kid. Throughout my teenage years I was healthy, athletic, and thin. THIN.

Being tall allowed me to carry more mass, but people would regularly think I was “under 100 pounds.” One person even mistook me for weighing 85 lbs at one point. I looked like Kate Middleton does in her thinner moments - the bones, a lithe shape that is who she naturally is.

Now that you have that context, I would EAT. I ate chocolate bars and ice cream, as an addition to my otherwise healthy diet. I generally had a lifeline of soda too. I had ice cream regularly stocked up in the freezer. (Again, I had an overall healthy, balanced diet.)

The thing is, my underlying genetic quirk led me to have hypoglycemia a lot. Not severe hypoglycemia, but subclinical levels. My face would get flushed, my body would feel like it was running on reserves, and my mood would alter. I had to pound a lot of extra carbohydrate calories to keep up with my body.

To this day, I still have to pack enough “unhealthy” food to survive places, or my body will start shutting down, feeling hot, and tired from not having enough carbohydrate-based fuel in it.

My family member had something similar. She took the pregnancy glucose test. You’re supposed to take that fasting. She snuck a meal in before - a hamburger and extras - and when she finished her test they said, “Dang girl, you need to eat.” Her glucose levels were low, and she HAD eaten.

Her experience helped me understand why I felt I physically had to eat Snickers bars (240 calories of protein/candy) before making the trip to my annual health exam, where my glucose levels always registered as “healthy” and “low” just an hour later.

Health plays a big role in weight gain and weight loss. The naturalistic fallacy that you’re leaning into is that weight makes you healthy or sick. Actually, far more often, it is that an underlying sickness will have a result on your weight.

Thyroid problems are spotted by sudden unexplained surges in a person’s weight.

PCOS is a syndrome that can lead to weight gain caused by hormones.

Gastroparesis is a condition that causes a person not to be able to digest their food in a timely manner. And if it stays in the upper digestive tract, it can’t get eaten and so they generally lose massive amounts of weight. Eating “more” won’t make them gain weight, it would often just make them throw up more often.

People with knee problems who are also obese find that as soon as their knee surgery has healed, they are mobile again and can move without pain, allowing them to return to their pre-obesity weight. (But society thinks it’s that they have leg pain because they are fat, so “if they walked, they would lose the weight.” No. If the knee pain is fixed, then they can walk comfortably, and then they will happily stay active. You don’t tell people that if they just walked barefoot in pain, they’d solve their problem of no shoes. You’d get them shoes, then there’s no problem with them walking.)

So, what does that mean in my experiences, as a “naturally skinny” person who is getting older, and gone through some health problems?

When I am sick, I lose weight. We just discussed how some sicknesses lead to weight gain. I am far more likely to die from malnutrition/starvation than I am from obesity. I have registered warning signs of starvation (ketoacidosis). Thinking that heavy = unhealthy is problematic erasure for people on the other end of the scale, who discuss their sickest days as being 85 pounds.

Weight-shaming isn’t cool, even if it’s skinny shaming. People remember every micro-aggression said to them. I remember being told to gain weight before my wedding, I remember having my weight compared as if I wasn’t a whole human because I wasn’t the full “normal” weight. Because I was skinny and thus desirable, although too skinny in other metrics, older women felt comfortable regularly telling me that I needed to protect that advantage - often while eating food themselves. They were telling me to eat less, because I was skinny. Who is allowed to tell other people what to eat? I wouldn’t even begin to know how to tell them what to EAT to alter their bodies to my preferences, because it’s extremely rude. There were many times I was threatened that I wouldn’t stay skinny forever. I watched my friend get told that too, ALL the time she was warned that, and she’s a grown adult still wearing kids clothes. I still own a kid’s-size sports jersey, it still fit me as an adult. There are so many things in life though attached to weight, even though it wasn’t a big deal for me. There are years and photographs that send me back to thinking about what people said about my body then. I’m always looking at my arms in those photos: was I really too skinny? Or was I healthy for that stage in my life? Because I felt healthy. Added to it were comments from others that didn’t even make sense: apparently society feels it is okay to fat-shame skinny girls, too, and that level of WTF is exhausting. If someone’s calling you fat, you cannot respond with “Aren’t YOU obese?” So you just had to sit on your skinny privilege and not respond, knowing that often their mean comments were a result of their past traumas with weight-policing. I’ve seen this in myself, watching a character on screen go from their actor’s age 17 weight to their age 24 weight. It was noticeable a transformation because society and Hollywood hid this from screens for decades, but the realism of a person gaining a few pounds in adulthood (and for sure, this actor was still skinny) is human nature. Is a fully-grown adult supposed to keep a child’s figure indefinitely?

A bigger factor in weight than is realized in the “calories in, calories out” system is hormones. The body has a complex system reacting to food. There are fat people who try to go on starvation diets and it doesn’t budge the scale. Meanwhile, I would be sitting there eating ice cream, wishing I could be pounds heavier, and not achieving it. There are times when hormones play a larger role: after an injury, a person is stressed and will often gain weight (or lose weight, in a stress response.) For me, the most stressful times of the year were when my clothes fit the loosest on my increasingly bony frame. At my comfiest, at the most indulgently relaxed times of each year, my body started to get closer up to 30th, 40th percentile in BMI. That was when my pants fit their “tightest.” Then within weeks my body would rebound down to being skinnier again. Other hormonal factors are similar: during pregnancy, some people’s hormones trip and make them have incredible weight gain. They gain 60lbs, deliver the baby, and go back to being thin, shaped like a human twig. Other people have this during breastfeeding, they gain 10–15 lbs. Medicines, like ADHD or hormonal birth control, can also have sudden weight-changing effects (Adderall causing a few pound weight loss, and birth control contributing to a weight gain: for some people the gain is nothing, others a negligible 5 lbs, and others having a 40 pound flux, similar to pregnancy. It’s not their diet that changed their weight, it’s their hormones.) When these hormone changes are reversed, the weight moves back toward their status quo.

So, as a “skinny” person who has had to survive on solid ice cream and pizza diets (literally “survive”, because my body was left at an unhealthy low weight following a respiratory illness, my skin-tight clothes hung baggily from my body, legs showed bruises from a lack of stored body fat, and to regain the weight I had to tirelessly choose high calorie foods to overcome my metabolism), and still have to drink caloric beverages just to keep my blood sugar registering normal-but-low into the afternoons (I know where the communal candy is stashed if that’s not an option, and this is serious as I even had a teenage car accident due to low blood sugar levels), I can tell you with the certainty of a skinny-shamed person that it’s not diets alone that make people fat.

Diets can affect things to the same extent you can affect your shoe size - you can influence your weight.

But it’s hard work changing your shoe size, and it’s likewise crying because you just can’t eat more pizza in a day level work to gain weight for the chronically skinny.

I imagine losing weight when metabolic factors are in play is just as difficult - and that’s been confirmed in people that were anorexic and still overweight, obese even. How is that “mindlessly eating too much” when they’re not eating at all, and still overweight?

It’s so important to recognize body diversity. People aren’t bad or wrong for being obese, or underweight, or massively tall or short. It’s how they were made.

And when they have a weight problem that they’ve self-identified, it’s not diet alone that will fix it. It’s treating their underlying health, their whole body’s health, that will give their mind the mental energy to move out of stress response. The quickest way to treat someone’s weight gain in a thyroid patient is to treat the thyroid imbalance. Treating someone’s mental illness would likewise help them be healthy enough to prioritize other aspects of their health. Diagnosing someone’s PCOS is more important than shaming them for being fat.

Got it? We can’t change our shoe size easily - we’d have to be playing with the outer limits of what’s possible in our body to do so, and that’s the same with weight gain and weight loss. The people who do lose 30, 50, 60 pounds do far more work to achieve that, with an much more restrictive diet than what I have to do to maintain “skinny.” They’re running and carb-counting. I was eating ice cream, snacking on popcorn, drinking sugar-added drinks, and complaining that my pants were getting a size too big. A lot of my saddest moments about weight have been around attempts to force weight GAIN, and realizing it’s harder than it looks.

We shouldn’t be shamed for our bodies. We also shouldn’t be believing early pre-scientific thought that bodies are identical input-output machines for whom a piece of food will react the exact same way. If that were true, I wouldn’t need to get glucose tested annually for work (because all bodies are the same!), and I definitely wouldn’t be eating Snickers before each test without it ever raising alarm of high blood sugar.

Can we all agree that Megan Markle is prettier than Kate Middleton and that Kate is too masculine with the jawline of a footballer? Kate even has a bigger jaw than her husband William.

No, we can't all agree. Megan Markle is not a pretty woman, inside nor out. Kate Middleton is much prettier physically, and is in no way masculine at all, and from all I've seen, heard, and read she is even more beautiful inside. Let's compare physical beauty: Megan Markle: Dead eyes, very wide jaw, non-existent breasts, stands like a man, not a very feminine shape, knobby knees, stick legs, bony ankles. The only things attractive about her are her hair and lips. Absolutely gorgeous hair, lively and beautiful eyes, stunning smile that could power a small city, proportional jaw, small but distinct chest, lovely feminine shape (as opposed to the anorexic looking models, most men prefer curves), womanly hips, slim but well shaped legs. Kate Middleton is the image of elegance, while retaining a “gi

Kate Middleton clearly looks anorexic, but why isn't this ever mentioned in the news? Diana had issues with bulimia, didn't she, and that was news, but why is it all silent with Kate? The woman is EMACIATED.

Catherine is naturally slender and narrow hipped, as are the other women we know in her family, like Pippa, her sister and their mother. She is lean, fit, healthy, very sporty and doesn’t have any eating problems. Look at her shiny hair, blemish free skin, her energy! There is nothing wrong with the Duchess of Cambridge and, God forbid, if there ever was, her husband would get help for her straight away.

When I suggested that Kate Middleton looked anorexic, the royal woke brigade on here got all offended and insisted she was just "naturally" thin. LOL. really? Doesn't look "natural" to me. You cannot be that thin unless you barely eat.

When I was her age, I was also very thin. I ate like a fat person, but never put on weight. I also didn't exercise beyond walking to work, or to the shop to buy more cakes. Catherine's diet will be considerably better than mine, so it's well within the realms of possibility that she is naturally that thin.

Why is Kate Middleton underweight?

While I would prefer you address her by her correct title, The Duchess of Cambridge does appear to be dangerously underweight, verging on the anorexic. Others have said look at her face, she doesn’t look underweight, I disagree however. If you look at her arms, her legs and particularly her hands she is painfully thin, without a doubt she needs to be at least a stone to a stone and a half heavier than she is now.

In her role as a Royal she needs to be an example to other people, especially younger women. In her current emaciated state she doesn’t do that, quite the opposite in fact, there are quite enough stick insect catwalk models giving out entirely the wrong message. We don’t need the Duchess of Cambridge doing that too.

Is it only a matter of time before Kate Middleton becomes jealous of all the attention that Meghan Markle receives?

Kate is jealous and it is obvious. Although she is someone who tries to hide her jealousy, it shows. The way she treated Meghan at the Commonwealth Day Service is a testament of her ability to just turn on others. Fake and fickle. She and william are cowards and want to stop others from executing their right to stand up to injustices. I don’t like her and I see right through her anorexic frame, heartlessness, self righteousness and jealously. Kate can get stuffed.
