One of the world's most iconic pop stars cannot legally make any life decisions without her father's approval.
This has led to the #FreeBritney movement claiming that she is a prisoner in her own life.
‘In the 2008 documentary Britney: For the Record, Spears lamented that she felt like a prisoner in her life, the first and only time the public has heard her discuss the conservatorship.
“Even when you go to jail,” she said, “you know there's a time when you're gonna get out. But in this situation, it's never ending. It's just like Groundhog Day every day.” ‘
The players involved in this saga include; Britney’s fans (who began the movement), and her legal conservators (her father and Andrew Wallet).
Both groups have been very vocal in explaining their positions.
However, the one side we hear very little from is Britney's. Through all the chaos and media frenzy, it can be all too easy to forget about the 38-year-old.
In this article, we hope you take a step back and look at the situation from Briney's perspective.
