Steve Jobs Wrote a Heartfelt Email to Himself Just One Year Before He Passed Away

In 2010, Steve Jobs wrote a deeply personal email to himself that few have ever seen. In it, he reflected on just how much of life he depended on others for—from the food he ate to the music that moved him.

He admitted that he hadn’t created the language he spoke, the mathematics he used, or the technology he relied on. Yet, he expressed admiration and love for the human spirit that made it all possible.
In a rare moment of vulnerability, Jobs also acknowledged that when he needed medical care, he was powerless to help himself. For someone often seen as larger than life, it was a candid reminder of the limits of even the greatest minds.
A year later, Jobs passed away. But this quiet, heartfelt email remains—a moving reminder of how deeply he valued humanity’s collective effort and the connections that shape our world.
