Ukraine's Zelenskiy Says He Spoke to Trump, Calls for "American Resolve" to Help End War

Global news from Ukraine: President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he had a "very good" conversation with President Donald Trump, urging "American resolve" to help end the war with Russia as Kyiv faces increasing pressure on the front line.

Zelenskiy said he discussed the situation on the front line and the need for continued US support. "American strength has been the anchor of this fight," he said in a video address.

The call comes as Ukraine struggles to hold territory in the east, with Russian forces claiming control of Kostiantynivka, a key city in the Donetsk region. Zelenskiy denied Russia's claims of capture.

Trump has offered to help broker a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but Kyiv remains wary of any agreement that doesn't guarantee Ukraine's territorial integrity.
