King Charles III claims to have made "a terrible mistake" with Meghan Markle and Harry

According to an article in L'Express, King Charles III recently admitted to making mistakes about Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.

The relationship between the British royal family and the Sussexes was particularly disened when they decided to leave their royal office in 2020. And the actions carried out by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not help to resolve the situation. Indeed, Tom Bower, current royal biographer, told the Daily Express US: "Harry and Meghan undermined the monarchy and Charles III made a terrible mistake. He should have removed them immediately. He should never have allowed their children to be made Prince and Princess. And he shouldn't have invited Harry to the coronaation. He should have cut the bridges." The royal writer also added: "Charles III's fatal mistake was to procrastinate endlessly on what to do with Harry and Meghan while they were conducting their revelation campaign in the United States".

Recurring attacks

In recent years, Prince Harry and his wife have indeed repeated attacks on the British Crown.

The first salvo was launched when the couple gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey in 2021, shortly after the Sussexes settled in California.

Meghan Markle then accused one of the members of the English royal family of making racist remarks, accusations that had brought King Charles III and his relatives into disrepute.

The release of Prince Harry's autobiography, as well as the revelations he gave there, also damaged his family, as TF1 Info recalls.

Finally, the online release of the documentary Harry &Meghan, available on Netflix, has also helped to move the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a little further away from the royal family.
