Lloyds Bank Is Down Right Now — App and Online Banking Not Working
Lloyds Bank app and online banking are currently down for thousands of customers. Here’s what to do if you can’t log in or make payments.
Lloyds Bank Is Down Right Now — App and Online Banking Not Working
Lloyds Bank is currently down. Thousands of customers are reporting that they cannot log into the Lloyds app or online banking this morning (October 20, 2026). The same issues are also affecting Halifax and Bank of Scotland, which are part of the Lloyds Banking Group.
The problems appear linked to a major Google Cloud outage in the europe-west2 (London) region that is also hitting Revolut, HSBC, Rightmove, DPD and several other services.
What Is Currently Not Working
- Lloyds mobile app login
- Online banking website
- Some payment and transfer functions
- Halifax and Bank of Scotland apps (same banking group)
What You Should Do Right Now
1. Try an alternative device or browser — Sometimes clearing cache or switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data helps.
2. Use telephone banking if you urgently need to move money or check a balance.
3. Do not repeatedly try to log in — Multiple failed attempts can temporarily lock your account.
4. Have a backup payment method ready — Cash or another bank card.
Is My Money Safe?
Yes. This is a technical outage linked to Google Cloud infrastructure, not a security breach. Your funds remain safe.
When Will Lloyds Be Fixed?
Lloyds has not given a recovery time. Because the root cause is a Google Cloud disruption in London, restoration depends on Google resolving the issue in the europe-west2 region.
