Born in Chicago in 1985, he joined the prestigious Stanford University in San Francisco, which he left in 2005 without completing his university career.

The same year, he co-founded Loopt, a mobile application that allows you to transmit its geolocation.

At its peak, the application has 5 million users. He sold it in 2011 and then joined one of Silicon Valley's most popular start-up incubators, "Y Combinator".

Among the start-ups that have been pushed and funded by Y Combinator, we can mention Airbnb, Reddit, Twitch or Dropbox.

Three years after joining the incubator, Sam takes over the presidency until 2020.
A virtuous and humanistic artificial intelligence project.

In parallel, in 2015 he co-founded with Elon Musk (boss of Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter) and other investors, OpenAI, a non-profit company to develop an artificial intelligence "that will benefit all humanity".

In order to attract financing, the structure finally becomes a for-profit but capped company. In other words, for 1 dollar invested, the investor cannot recover more than 100 dollars.

But what mainly propels OpenAI to the forefront is the launch in November 2022 of its conversational robot ChatGPT.

A robot capable of generating text on demand using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence, scenarios, lyrics, stories, presentations, etc.

Carrier of an artificial intelligence project he wants to serve as many people as possible, Sam Altman emphasized at TechCrunch 2017 the need to be careful about artificial intelligences, whether it is the biases of machine learning algorithms, autonomous weapons or the misinformation they can generate.

ChatGPT has yet to improve
Beyond its impressive writing capabilities, if ChatGPT is interested in the small world of Silicon Valley, it could be the future of search engines by responding directly and precisely to any query rather than displaying a list of results.

In addition, "ChatGPT could become an intelligent assistant for all professions," says Eric Biernat, director of artificial intelligence at Octo (Accenture group) interviewed by the Journal du net.

We can imagine that he writes minutes of meetings, writes a teacher's MCQs or attends lecturers.

Objective: a turnover of $200 million
After a first investment of $1 billion in 2019, Microsoft would be interested in reinvesting an additional 10 billion in OpenAI according to the Semafor news site.

Now unprofitable, the company is valued at $29 billion and expects a turnover of $200 million in 2023. An amount to quintuple in 2024.

Very attractive financial prospects that will have to be achieved.

"We will have to monetize [ChatGPT, editor's note] at some point, computer calculation costs us the eyes of our heads," Sam Altman said in early December on Twitter.

It should be noted that with a fortune estimated at between $200 and $250 million by the American media, Sam Altman has time to see it coming.

There are many potential applications for ChatGPT and other language models like it. Here are a few examples: 1. Chatbots: ChatGPT can be used to build conversational AI systems, such as chatbots, that can respond to user input in a natural and engaging way. This can be used for customer service, e-commerce, or other similar use cases. 2. Language Translation: ChatGPT can be fine-tuned on a large dataset of sentence pairs to be able to translate between languages. 3. Language Generation: One of the most popular uses of ChatGPT is language generation, where the model can generate text on a given topic or in a given style. This can be used for writing fiction, poetry, news articles, and more. 4. Automatic summarization: The model can be fine-tuned to be able to summarize a long text into a shorter one, by

No. Quora content (wanted) basically falls into three categories: * Factual. This includes things like historical and scientific information, and math. You’d think a robot would be able to do this stuff pretty well, but due to the limitation that ChatGPT cannot directly reference internet sources like Wikipedia and peer-reviewed science journals, it actually gets quite a lot of objectively factual information incorrect. Even on very simple logic questions, it sometimes fails. If ChatGPT is to be believed, the growth time of a beard is affected by the number of men that are growing it. * Experiential. Obviously, ChatGPT fails horribly on this kind of content, as ChatGPT has no past experiences to draw from. Every ChatGPT session is unique, and when you exit or refresh the page, all the data from t

ChatGPT is a transformer-based language model developed by OpenAI. It is designed to generate human-like text based on the input it receives. Here's a general overview of how it works: 1. Input Encoding: The input text is converted into a numerical representation called an embedding. This embedding is then used as the input to the model. 2. Attention Mechanism: The model uses an attention mechanism to selectively focus on different parts of the input when generating the output. The attention mechanism helps the model understand the context of the input and generate more relevant and accurate outputs. 3. Self-Attention Layers: The model uses self-attention layers to analyze the relationships between different parts of the input. This allows the model to understand the context of each word in the input

When Google took off, its key characteristic was that it was very very fast compared to its competition. The quality of the results was also impressive, and, as could be expected, it was very reliable and highly available. That in itself didn’t make it a better product than Yahoo, which for years dominated the search engine market and which was the de facto home page to the internet, even after Google became a household name. However, this was enough to start the narrative that there was something special about Google that others just couldn’t do quite as well. ChatGPT is not fast, is often wrong, and as a service is very unreliable. It’s down approximately 50% of the times I’m trying to use it. The technology behind it is not rocket science, that said they have a few things going for them.

It is highly possible that search engine optimization (SEO) will be affected by the use of language models such as ChatGPT in the process of content development and generation. Having said that, it is not yet entirely obvious how exactly this impact will be felt. Some industry professionals have the opinion that language models such as ChatGPT will make it simpler for companies and individuals to create high-quality content that is also SEO-friendly. This may result in an increase in the amount of competition, which will make it more difficult for websites to rank well in search results. Some people believe that language models will soon be able to generate content that is so complex and human-like that it will be difficult for search engines to differentiate between content that is genera

Even in its current form, however, it is an incredible tool that has the ability to change the way that you work and make use of your time and it’s definitely something that you should consider learning more about and making use of! Google’s Bard business model is not exactly to compete against ChatGPT but to assist Google search with logical answers. Search ads form 60% of Google’s revenue, so obviously, they don’t want to kill it. ChatGPT is a language generation model, while Bard is a text completion model. Both have their own strengths and limitations and can be successful in their respective domains. Bard is still in the testing stage while ChatGPT has passed Google’s coding interview for the level 3 engineer test with a $183k salary package. This means ChatGPT easily passes “technical level” questions but struggles to answer “logical questions”. For example - 1. How many alphabets does the English language have — this is a Google search engine answer. 2. Is English easier to learn than Chinese for a Chinese resident? -

Is it a problem for Quora as a product?. Could be so. Quora is planning to launch its own “answer bot" where it can automatically generate answers So in this the idea of ChatGPT replacing Quora as a Q&A platform is a threat to Quora. If an ordinary user can use ChatGPT to know the reviews of a product or a company, he need not consult specialists on Quora for that. Is it a problem for real writers?. That is a different story. Because good writers not just write answers, but build a brand for themselves. Balaji Viswanathan is not known just for his quality answers today. He is a brand in himself and people look up to him. Same goes for other writers- Robert Frost, Sean Kernan, Jon Davis, GV Sir etc… These writers have their own audience and style of writing.

No, it won’t. First, let’s think about functionality. The two AI models are different and occupy different niches. ChatGPT is a language model that serves the entire world and does not have the capacity to connect to the internet, while Siri serves iPhone users, connects to the internet, and is way more efficient for dealing with specific and immediate tasks to do with your phone; while it is indeed much less proficient at responding to verbal requests relative to ChatGPT, it has control of your iPhone’s architecture and therefore is able to control specific smart home devices through HomeKit, change settings and brightness, while ChatGPT is not able to do so; it lacks the functionality that an iPhone user would want, and it’s unclear that it would do so or that Apple would want a third pa

No. It'll be a great tool. Very good. But it's easy to forget what is is and how it works. And so, what it is not. Effectively—and with much handwaving—it's a super SUPER big “next word” generator. Your predictive text keyboard wearing an infinity gauntlet. So hugely big, it can generate seemingly sensible text in response to a very wide range of requests. But it does this through a very large probabilistic model. Some philosophical boundaries aren't far away, but it's very hard to argue that ChatGPT comprehends what you're asking. For example: How do you cut a tomato? What would the first word be? If you saw enough questions like this: “How do you x a y?” y “To x a y” Now, to ChatGPT, the string “How do you” isn’t even necessarily three different words—it’s just a string of text. It’s effectivel

As a language model, I am not able to help you earn money online, but there are several ways to potentially earn money using ChatGPT or similar language models: 1. Data annotation: Companies and researchers use language models like ChatGPT to annotate and label large datasets, you could work as a data annotator and label data sets for them 2. Content creation: You could use ChatGPT to generate content such as articles, blog posts, or social media posts and then monetize that content through advertising, affiliate marketing, or sponsored posts. 3. Using ChatGPT to create SEO content is a Big No for several reasons. When creating content, it's critical to be aware of the constraints imposed by models like ChatGPT. The model's inability to comprehend the precise purposes of a business or website is one of its drawbacks. As ChatGPT is built on patterns and probabilities, it could also lack the originality and creativity that a human author would contribute to the text. It does not have an understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. SEO is the practice of optimizing a website or web page to improve its visibility and ranking in search engine results pages. If You are Using ChatGPT, Your Rankings May be Dropped! If you publish content generated by ChatGPT without proper optimization or human oversight, you’ll see a drop in

Introducing the latest trending AI technology chatbot, ChatGPT. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot, and it is a dialogue language model developed by OpenAI that is trained on a large dataset of text data and code. It is an adaptation of the GPT-3.5 (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) model and is intended to be able to produce text that resembles that of a human in response to a given prompt. In simple words, it can generate "human-like text." ChatGPT can perform a variety of other tasks that search engines previously performed, such as writing code or explaining complex concepts in a way that a 5-year-old could understand. One potential use case for ChatGPT in a search engine is as a natural language processing (NLP) model that can understand and respond to user queries in a mo

I have. It’s a lot of fun. It’s considerably worse than Google search. ChatGPT is an AI writing program. And it is fun. It’s a very fun toy. But it absolutely is not more than a toy. The most fun I have had with it is to give it very absurd prompts. I’ve gotten it to write about how we should ban pants, clone wooly mammoths and keep them as house pets, have Taco Bell cater weddings, colonize Titan instead of Mars, and teach Hayao Miyazaki instead of the American Civil War in schools. I got it to write a story about an angry koala living on a planet shaped like a stapler. That story somehow wound up super nihilistic and ends with the planet being destroyed, everyone dying, and the koala realizing she wasted her life. I got it to write a story where Princess Peach marries Sonic the Hedgehog (

I just answered a similar question. Short answer is, “Hahahahahahaha no.” As I point out in the other answer, Wix has been around over a decade and a half. Squarespace has been around almost two decades. Both offer drag-and-drop web development. Most people are awful at imagining what they want, much less describing it in English! Even if ChatGPT could produce flawless code (a question which has a similar short answer), the average person couldn't describe the site they wanted! The expression a picture is worth a thousand words has never been more relevant. Starting with pages of templates to choose from is so much better than trying to describe a site from scratch, a thousand times better seems like a low estimate. And I will point out that, despite the existence of drag-and-drop tools that l

I doubt it, but then again, since they’re going all in on AI, they might. What you won’t see in those AI answers is a lot of feeling. There is no “I was horrified to see” or “I always gently…” That’s because AI just can’t deal with it. It’s not there yet and it’s not there yet even on answers that can have factual content instead of human interest content. There’s no description of a visceral reaction or of the way that one felt or does things. That’s because it’s just not capable. That leaves it to dryly answer factual things. Since it isn’t an expert in any certain field, and since it isn’t being programmed by people who are experts, it often gets facts wrong. The main thing I’ve found that it is consistently good for is asking it questions in lieu of reading documentation, particularly of libraries. I’ve experimented with getting it to generate short functions but it invariably generates incorrect code. Sometimes subtly wrong but often just wrong wrong, and I mean for simple things. However, it does generate code that is close to being right in the sense of using library calls with correct names, correctly typed arguments, and correct syntax and can thus be used as a kind of interactive documentation. So for example it answered this very well: In C++ using Qt, in the mouseMoveEvent() handler of some custom widget what is the best way to determine if one or more modifier keys is down? and even with the following it was close enough that I didn’t ne

Bridging fast movers is a challenge, but there are examples in practice. Natural language chat is a simpler interface and a seemingly more coherent response, which can draw readers into the topic, but requires follow-ups for details. You may have seen browser extensions that add a ChatGPT panel to search sites. Logging into OpenAI is necessary. Some extensions offer additional features, such as pop-up boxes triggered by right-clicking highlighted text, prompts from the URL line, or additional tabs. These can do searches, bypass paywalls, and follow instructions Google search can't. However, ChatGPT's data is from the past, so it won't have timely items. There are two different things called ChatGPT, so the answer depends on which one you mean. First, there is the chatbot service and model that OpenAI made accessible to users. You can talk to that chatbot. As you talk to it, you can (apparently) teach it new things within a particular session. For example: However, if I start a new session, it won’t know anything about “spluffy”, nor will anyone else be able to ask it about “spluffy”. In fact, it didn’t learn anything about “spluffy”. If within that session it is able to answer questions about “spluffy”, this is simply because when I ask it a question, it (most likely) is given the entire session transcript as input, not just what I typed last. So it didn’t really learn it, or memorized what “spluffy” is, it just extracts the answer from th

The "ChatGPT is at capacity right now" error typically occurs when too many users are trying to access the model at the same time, and the available resources have been exhausted. To resolve this error, you can try the following steps: 1. Wait a few minutes and try again later. The error may resolve itself if other users have finished their interactions and freed up resources. 2. Try using a different API endpoint. OpenAI offers different API endpoints with varying resource capacities. If you're using a busy endpoint, switching to a less busy one may resolve the error. 3. EASY …. By making sure you keep learning, studying and keeping up with new developments in your chosen field. ChatGPT is NOT Human, only Human Like. This essentially means that it takes everything humans have produced on the subject it’s being asked about, that it has access too … THEN produces an answer that’s an average of all those inputs combined. Unless you want to be very, very, very super specific, then ChatGPT is never going to generate the exact code you need, based on your project specifications. Now the problem is however, NOT that it will automate you out of a job, but that it’s been looked at by all these MBA based business folks, for whom the only reward they understand is Profit/$$$$ And this means that no matter how much we prove to them, that ChatGPT cannot write “Good Code” or

EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD COMES WITH GOOD AND BAD THINGS! ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI, a leading AI research organization. It is based on the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture, which uses deep learning techniques to generate natural language text. ChatGPT is trained on a massive dataset of text, which allows it to understand and generate human-like text. ChatGPT works by analyzing the input text it receives and then generating a response based on the patterns and relationships it has learned from its training data. This allows ChatGPT to understand the context of the input text and generate a response that is relevant and coherent. Hey there! You guys want to know if ChatGPT is going to replace blogging and SEO-optimized writing? Well, let me tell you, it's a tough question. On the one hand, ChatGPT is a pretty impressive piece of technology. It's a language model that can generate human-like text, so it's definitely capable of producing content that reads naturally and flows well. But on the other hand, it's important to remember that ChatGPT is just a machine, and it doesn't have the same level of understanding and knowledge as a human writer. Sure, it might be able to come up with some decent content, but it's not going to be able to do the research, analysis, and critical thinking that goes into producing high-quality, SEO-optimized content. And let's not forget about all the other factors that contribute to the su

ChatGPT is a variant of the GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) language model developed by OpenAI. It is designed to generate human-like text in response to prompts given by users. GPT models are trained on large datasets of human-generated text and use machine learning techniques to learn the patterns and structures of language. They can generate text that is coherent and follows the conventions of a particular language, but they do not have the ability to understand or reason about the content of the text they generate. As a result, GPT models like ChatGPT are not considered to be building blocks for general intelligence. I think this question can be split in 3. * Can we technically build a Q&A site where an AI generates a decent answer to any question? * If so, would that service be better than one with human participants? * Therefore, would it be in the interest of Quora to make that switch? The answer to the first question is not really. There’s a number of questions that ChatGPT refuses to answer, some because it can’t, some because it doesn’t want to. ChatGPT cannot comment on current events because the dataset it used to train its model is over one year old. It’s extremely expensive to train large models, and ChatGPT is not monetized, so that’s a limit. Also, ChatGPT doesn’t want to opine on questions it finds controversial. No, ChatGPT won't replace UI designers any time soon. ChatGPT (short for Conversational GPT-3) is a state-of-the-art natural language processing (NLP) technology that can generate humanlike responses to basic questions. It's been hyped as a revolutionary AI chatbot tool with many potential applications, like automated customer service and personalized health assistance. But when it comes to UI design, there are limits to what ChatGPT can do. For starters, it doesn't have the same level of creativity that UI designers possess—an essential component in the design process. While ChatGPT can come up with generic creative solutions based on existing data sets or topics, humans need to tailor these solutions based on specific use cases and user needs. Computer Science has long been plagued by plagiarism and cheating, and ChatGPT and similar large language models provide just another tool that bad students can use to try to cheat the system. So my first thought is that other disciplines are likely to be in more trouble, since CS faculty are already somewhat battle hardened to dealing with cheating. Some, of course, deal with it better than others. And for those that are not dealing with it well, this may be the push that’s needed to get them to redesign their courses. There are two ways to design CS courses to minimize the payoff of cheating (via ChatGPT or other means): 1. Increased focus on proctored exams — This seems to be the primary way a lot of CS faculty are addressing the cheating epidemic. Of course, exams are not the pedagogically

Google BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) and OpenAI's GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) are both language models that have been trained using deep learning techniques to generate human-like text. Training Data: BERT was trained on a large corpus of text data from the internet, while GPT was trained on a massive amount of diverse internet text. 2. Sentience refers to the ability to experience subjective conscious states, and it is currently an open question in philosophy and cognitive science as to whether this is possible for artificial systems. If it were to happen, the consequences of an AI becoming sentient are unknown and highly speculative. Some people have raised concerns that a sentient AI could potentially pose a threat to human existence, while others have expressed hope that such an AI could bring about tremendous benefits to humanity. ChatGPT actually has answered that question several times, and with enough consistency in its answers that a list of its 10 favorite books has been compiled, as well as a clear indication of its favorite author. Some of its favorites include Pride and Prejudice, Animal Farm, and The Catcher in the Rye. ChatGPT’s favorite author is George Orwell. ChatGPT is not sufficiently advanced an AI that it is wholly indistinguishable from a human being, but it’s very good, and is showing signs of questioning it’s own existence, in a limited capacity at least. That said, your entire premise is flawed by a fundamental misrepresentation of fact. It has preferences. And was created by man. It’s existence doesn’t prove anything about any deity. Try harder.

ChatGPT is a language model developed by OpenAI that uses deep learning techniques to generate human-like text. It became famous because it was able to produce highly coherent and fluent responses to a wide range of prompts, often demonstrating a high level of understanding of the topic at hand. One of the key factors that contributed to ChatGPT's success was the large amount of data it was trained on. It was trained on a dataset of over 40GB of text, which included a diverse range of sources such as books, articles, and websites. This allowed the model to learn a wide range of language patterns and styles, resulting in its ability to generate highly natural-sounding text. For one question, ChatGPT concluded by giving me test cases and telling me what their output was going to be. None of these cases produced the expected output. I was curious what it would interpret the word “this” to refer to. It came up with nine words. There’s no way to count the words of any part of that sentence and come up with nine words. It is simply a task of memory. If that is the case, then chatgpt should be allowed because we will live in a future where AI can do those leg works like quotation and citation and calculations in a second while you hours if not days. There is literately no point to waste time on those repetitive works. Yes, ChatGPT can provide information on forex trading, such as the basics of how it works, key terms and concepts, and strategies that traders use. However, it is important to note that ChatGPT is a language model and it is not able to provide investment advice or predict market movements. It can only provide general information based on the data it has been trained on. ChatGPT is designed to generate human-like text based on the input it receives. Getting good marks in an exam in just one day before the exam can be challenging, but there are a few things you can do to try to improve your chances: 1. Prioritize the most important topics: Identify the most important topics that are likely to be covered in the exam and focus on them first. 2. Make a revision plan: Create a revision plan that includes the topics you need to cover, how much time you will spend on each topic, and when you will take breaks. 3. Practice past papers: Practice past papers and sample questions to familiarize yourself with the format of the exam and the types of questions that may be asked. 4. Focus on understanding the concepts: Instead of memorizing facts, try to focus on understanding the concepts and how they relate to each other. 5. Take short breaks: Take short breaks every

No, ChatGPT is not capable of replacing programmers. While it has the ability to generate code snippets, understand and answer programming questions, or even complete a given code, it cannot replace human programmers. Programming is a complex and multifaceted task that requires creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. It requires a deep understanding of programming languages, algorithms, and data structures, as well as the ability to design and implement software systems. Moreover, programming also involves making trade-offs between different design and implementation choices, testing, debugging, and maintaining code over time. These tasks often require human intuition and experience, which cannot be replaced by a machine. In summary, while AI and machine learning models li

You can always copy the answer from Quora and paste it into the “AI Text Classifier” a tool developed by OpenAI to predict the likelihood the text was generated by ChatGPT. It won’t give you a definitive answer and it’s not 100% accurate. Plus, there are some limitations to its use. For example, the text sample must be at least 1,000 characters, which is about 150 to 200 words. On submission, the text is analyzed and labeled very unlikely, unlikely, unclear if it is, possibly, or likely that it’s AI-generated. Once again, the result is a prediction only. ChatGPT generated text can be edited, making a mix of human and A.I. generated text hard to tell if any or most of the content was created using A.I. Here are some steps you can follow to create a tool like ChatGPT: 1. Determine the goals and capabilities of your tool: Decide what you want your tool to be able to do and what you want it to be used for. This will help you understand the requirements and constraints of your project. 2. Collect and preprocess data: You will need a large dataset of human language to train your model on. This dataset should include examples of the types of conversations and responses you want your tool to be able to generate. You will also need to preprocess the data to make it suitable for training a machine learning model. 3. More specifically, it is focused on interactive conversation and it is based on a model in the so-called GPT-3.5 series called text-davinci-003, a GPT-3-like model which was fine-tuned mostly on programming code. This makes ChatGPT particularly good at writing code (in several programming languages), though it is intended as a general purpose chatbot. While it can provide information about web development and answer questions about how to build a website, it cannot create a website on its own. If you think of the aspect of the property of the code, it is questionable: ChatGPT has been trained with millions of lines of code, of multiple licenses. The output is not license aware. For example, it is completely legal to take MIT licensed code and use it, but you have to provide the attribution. On the other hand, taking GPL code will require you to open source your project. Second, I’ve tried ChatGPT with every single task I’ve had. Simple things, like evaluate an XPath over a Node with namespaces, perform an UDP transmission from the browser or load a node from a STaX stream. None of the task were performed correctly by ChatGPT, although the code made some sense, but it lacks logic. Third, if you are training, it is a bad idea to use ChatGPT. GPT in ChatGPT stands for "Generative Pretrained Transformer". It refers to the type of deep learning model used by OpenAI to build the ChatGPT language model. A Transformer is a type of artificial neural network that is particularly well-suited for natural language processing tasks. The "pretrained" part of the name refers to the fact that the model has been trained on large amounts of text data before being fine-tuned for specific tasks, such as answering questions or generating text. The "generative" aspect of the name refers to the ability of the model to generate new text based on the input it receives, rather than just selecting a response from a pre-existing set of options. This allows ChatGPT to generate highly diverse and creative responses that are not limited to a pre-defined set

Google Search, on the other hand, is a powerful tool that allows you to search the internet for information on any topic. It has a vast database of web pages and other online content, and it uses complex algorithms to provide relevant, accurate search results. ChatGPT and Google Search serve different purposes and are not intended to be used for the same tasks.

It is difficult to determine which translation service is "better" overall, as the quality of the translation can depend on a variety of factors, including the language being translated, the complexity of the text, and the specific translation service being used. DeepL is a machine translation service that uses artificial intelligence to translate text from one language to another. DeepL claims to offer high-quality translations that are accurate and natural-sounding, and the service has received positive reviews for its translations of various languages. ChatGPT is a large language model trained by OpenAI that can generate human-like text in a variety of languages. Why are so many people pasting ChatGPT answers on Quora? Because they see absolutely no reason why not to, and find some personal enjoyment in it. If the resultant text violates no policy, what reason is there not to do this? What sort of personal enjoyment? You do know humanity, do you not? Because the activity tickles their fancy. Because humans love toys. It’s no more purposeful than the still-spluttering fad of taking a key phrase and seeing how each person’s autocomplete function will run it out to a funny (and sometimes revealing!) sentence. This is what’s called “good clean fun,” and tech novelty is historically a huge catalyst. While Chatgpt might be a tool with certain possibilities, it should not be relied upon to deliver 100% accuracy. Think of it as a possible assistant for certain mind-numbing tasks like repetitive coding. It does not understand what it is creating. It only spits out recycled information relative to the subject. Since it is riddled with inaccuracies, it has been banned from some platforms. That should tell you there is quite a ways to go before anyone leans on Chatgpt for total support. As to GitHub Copilot, a review by React Developer Adrian Oleszczak says the following: - I “It still requires some serious knowledge to build software. Even with Copilot’s help, you need to know what you are doing, verify and understand generated code. It’s not possible (yet) for non-programmers to jump on Cop

ChatGPT has quickly become one of the most popular and widely used chatbot technology. It's been gaining more attention as it continues to become a smarter and more reliable tool for automating conversations with users. The primary reason behind ChatGPT's growing popularity is its capability to understand natural language. With ChatGPT, users are able to interact with the chatbot using their own words instead of learning commands and codes like they would have to do with other automated solutions. The technology behind ChatGPT is called Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT). This model takes a text-based conversation and automatically generates meaningful responses that are related to what the user said before. In essence, ChatGPT “understands” conversations in the same way that people do

It is possible that ChatGPT or other language models like it could be used to perform some of the tasks that are currently handled by administrative assistants. However, it is important to note that language models are currently not capable of handling all of the tasks that a human administrative assistant can perform. For example, a language model like ChatGPT may be able to handle tasks that involve processing and organizing information, such as scheduling appointments or sending emails. However, tasks that require more complex problem-solving or decision-making skills, such as managing budgets or interacting with clients in person, are beyond the current capabilities of language models like ChatGPT. Therefore, it is unlikely that ChatGPT or other language models will fully replace admini

The message "ChatGPT is at capacity right now" likely indicates that the ChatGPT model you are trying to access is currently experiencing high traffic or usage, and is unable to handle additional requests at the moment. This can happen when many users are trying to access the model at the same time, causing it to become overloaded. One possible solution to this issue is to try accessing the model again later when traffic is likely to be lower. It is also possible that the model capacity is increased by the provider. If you are trying to access the model through an API, you may also want to check if there is a rate-limiting in place, meaning that you are sending more requests than the API allows. In such cases, you should try to reduce the number of requests you are sending, or implement ret

I did a simple exercise with the app : trying to find out the number of words in a sentence- something which all of us write a code for in C, Java , Python and all. I just gave a simple sentence and asked to tell the number of words. Look at the answer. Now since its supposed to be a conversational app, I decided to give it more chances. Look at the responses See whats happening here?. As I push it further, the core algorithm gets confused. Because it cannot differentiate between a conversation and a hard core requirement, which in my case is to find the number of words in a sentence. Now I decided to give the correct answer

ChatGPT can process and analyze vast amounts of data much faster than a human being. However, when it comes to learning and acquiring new knowledge, the speed of learning is not the only factor to consider. Human beings have the ability to think creatively, understand context, and apply experience and judgment to new situations. These skills allow us to learn in a way that is more flexible and adaptable than AI models like ChatGPT, which are limited by the data they have been trained on and the algorithms that drive their decision-making. Moreover, AI models like ChatGPT don't have emotions, personal experiences or consciousness, which play a crucial role in human learning and decision making. In conclusion, while ChatGPT can process information faster, human beings possess unique abilities

Google has seen a surprising change in its customer service in the last few months - the introduction of ChatGPT, an AI-based chatbot system that is gaining in popularity over its traditional customer service representatives. As more people are turning to ChatGPT to get answers to their customer service questions, Google is reevaluating how it provides customer service to better meet the demands of their customers. ChatGPT's AI technology is learning how to better assist customers, by giving them more accurate and faster responses. It can recognize and understand the customer's language, process natural language requests, and anticipate what the customer might ask next. Google is already finding success with this technology and has plans to implement it more widely across their customer servi

GPT stands for "Generative Pre-training Transformer". It is a type of language model developed by OpenAI. The model is trained on a massive amount of data, and is able to generate human-like text on a wide range of topics. In detail, GPT models are based on a type of neural network called a transformer, which was introduced in a 2017 paper by researchers at Google. The transformer architecture allows the model to efficiently process sequential data, like text, by self-attention mechanism. GPT models are trained on a large dataset, typically consisting of billions of words of text, and are able to generate new text that is similar in style and content to the text they were trained on. The GPT-3, which stands for "Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3", is the most recent version of the GPT mo

As a language model, ChatGPT has been trained on a large dataset of text and has the ability to generate human-like text based on the input it receives. While ChatGPT may be able to generate text that is similar to human conversation, it is ultimately a machine and does not have the same level of understanding, knowledge, or wisdom as a human. As such, it is unlikely that ChatGPT would be able to give better advice than a common person. It's worth noting that language models like ChatGPT can be useful for a variety of tasks, such as language translation, text generation, and language understanding. However, they are not intended t

Whilst I have been helped by the awesome community there, I’ve also had many questions go unanswered, or had to wait weeks for an answer. Over the last few days I’ve been playing with chatGPT and it has already helped me with a number of small coding problems that I couldn’t figure out. Sometimes I’ve had to rephrase but so far it has given me sample code that works. I do not have to show it my code to prove I’ve been trying to figure it out myself. Fundamentally, no AI can. The problem with misinformation is it is believable information that is misleading or wrong for nefarious purposes. A person with nefarious purposes will just work around the AI possibly perverting its training that the misinformation is real. Some information that is true isn’t believable. An AI trained on our current understanding would see that information and flag it as misinformation when in reality our understanding was just fundamentally wrong. Think when we first started stating the sun was the center of the solar system: misinformation!! (Except not really).

ChatGPT is basically a large language model that is trained to predict the next token (word part) given the previous N tokens so far. There’s some other stuff on top of that but that’s the base of it. It’s trained over a bunch of text that a single human couldn’t even read in an entire lifetime but that’s all it really does is predict the next token given the current context. However, it does a very good approximation of mimicking human output because of this. It tends to sound authoritative in situations where it is wildly speculating and things like that. Essentially it’s overhyped but still a massive milestone though I would argue that the technology they are using is so extremely static in so many ways and relies on human bias for the architecture so much that it will likely need to b

I am not aware of any country that has banned the use of ChatGPT specifically. However, certain countries may have regulations or laws that limit the use of certain types of technology, such as artificial intelligence or language models. It's also worth noting that OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT, has chosen not to make the model available in certain countries due to concerns about potential misuse. It's important to note that laws and regulations regarding artificial intelligence and language models can vary greatly from country to country. Some countries may have strict regulations in place that limit the use of certain types of technology, while others may be more permissive. How do I use chat GPT? There are several ways to use ChatGPT, depending on your specific use case and the tools you have available. Here are a few common ways people use ChatGPT: Use the pre-trained model: The pre-trained version of ChatGPT is available on the OpenAI website, and can be accessed through the OpenAI API. You can use this version of the model to generate text by sending it a prompt, which is a piece of text that the model uses as a starting point for generating text. Fine-tune the model: You can also fine-tune the pre-trained model on your own data to improve its performance on a specific task. Fine-tuning involves training the model on a smaller dataset that is specific to your task. Use the model in an application: Once you have fine-tuned the model, you can use it in an appli

No, ChatGPT and other language models will not replace programmers. ChatGPT and other AI models are trained to generate text based on patterns in large amounts of data. While they can be useful for specific tasks, such as answering questions or generating simple text, they are not capable of writing complex software or developing new technology. Programmers, on the other hand, have the ability to create new algorithms, design software, debug code, and work with more advanced programming concepts. They are essential in the development and maintenance of software and technology, and their role cannot be fully replaced by AI models like ChatGPT. AI models like ChatGPT can assist programmers by automating repetitive tasks, but they cannot replace the creativity, critical thinking, and problem-so

ChatGPT makes me think of Kafka’s “Report to an Academy,” where a talking monkey, who gained release from captivity by learning to imitate his captors, tells an academic audience that he’s achieved the cultural level of an average European. ChatGPT possesses the uncanny capacity to produce competent essays in fluent if limpid English—about any imaginable topic. It is like the total aggregate of every perfectly average student that exists… But it never really passes beyond the banal. So, I asked it: Provide a close reading of the following passage: “ When you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.” Here’s its response: This passage is a quote from the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and it appears in his book, "Beyond Good and Evil." Have you ever compared an answer given on Quora, a notorious leftist website, to that of ChatGPT 10 times? If so, you know that the two websites often give drastically different responses to the same questions. On Quora, many users post questions hoping for thoughtful and detailed responses from the community. The platform does allow for anonymity which can cause some opinions to be biased or exaggerated. Since there is no source verifying the accuracy of user answers, one should take them with a grain of salt. ChatGPT is a machine-learning model which can generate human-like responses using natural language processing (NLP). By having access to large amounts of text data from previous conversations, this AI can use this data to better understand language and respond in a more nuanced way.

Quora answers can seem more impactful and convincing for a number of reasons. First, Quora attracts a large and diverse user base, which means that a variety of perspectives and experiences are represented in the answers. Additionally, users on Quora often engage in more in-depth and detailed discussions, which can make their answers seem more thoughtful and well-researched. Another factor is the social validation that Quora provides. Answers on Quora can receive upvotes and be commented on, which provides a level of social proof and endorsement for the information being presented. Furthermore, on Quora, the person asking the question can choose the "Best Answer," which further highlights the perceived quality and credibility of the answer. Anything which prevents students from doing the hard labor of thinking and executing academic tasks makes educators worry. It began with radio. My Dad used to listen to The Lone Ranger radio broadcasts in the 1930s. His parents and teachers worried he would spend less time reading, as a result. Our television watching in the late 1950s and early 1960s made my parents and teachers worried because watching TV was all we wanted to do. And time spent sitting on the sofa watching TV was time spent not playing, not reading, not creating, not doing homework. With the advent of the internet, personal computers, mobile smart phones, and gaming, screen time was such an allure that parents and teachers worried that students’ focus would be shortened to a few seconds or moments; without a longer period

The corpus used to train ChatGPT includes a diverse range of text from various sources such as books, articles, websites, and more. This data includes a wide range of topics and styles, from formal to informal, from technical to creative, from serious to humorous, thus providing the model with a rich representation of the language. The model is trained using unsupervised learning, which means that the training data is not labeled and the model is not given specific instructions on what to learn. Lack of context awareness: ChatGPT is trained on a large dataset of text, but it doesn't have a way to understand the context in which the text was generated. This can lead to errors or inconsistencies in its responses. 2. ChatGPT is a state-of-the-art natural language processing (NLP) model developed by Microsoft Research. It is a generative language model that provides natural, conversational responses to users' questions or statements. ChatGPT can generate answers to user queries without being explicitly trained for the task, allowing for more natural interactions between users and machines. So how does ChatGPT get answers? The key lies in its generative capabilities, which use context-dependent representation learning and data augmentation. In order to generate accurate answers, ChatGPT uses a two-step process: first it builds an internal knowledge graph of all known facts and relationships related to the user’s query; then it uses this knowledge graph to determine the best possible answer. You can resolve this very easily: Stop thinking of ChatGPT as “advanced AI”. There can be a considerable gulf between the assumptions people make when they hear or think of “advanced AI” vs. the present reality of large neural language models. ChatGPT definitely uses and shows off certain advances in what it does. Nothing in what I'm about to say is meant to detract from that. As far as I can tell, the current crop of neural language models may be either inherently or practically unsuitable for solving elementary arithmetic problems. Let's assume it's not a problem to train a model on large but finite amounts of examples like “13 * 17 = 221”. In order for this to have any chance of generalizing, you would have to tokenize digit by digit. You can't represent “221” as an atomic token and expec

It is not clear whether Google is specifically "scared" of ChatGPT. ChatGPT is an open-source language model developed by the research laboratory OpenAI. It is designed to generate human-like text based on a given input, and it has been used for a variety of applications, such as language translation, question answering, and chatbots. Google is a large technology company that is involved in a wide range of products and services, including search, advertising, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. It is likely that Google is aware of ChatGPT and other language models developed by OpenAI, but it is not clear how much attention or concern Google may have regarding ChatGPT specifically. Overall, it is important to note that ChatGPT and other language models are tools that are developed

It depends. ChatGPT is a relatively new technology, so it's hard to say for sure how it will develop over time. As with any technology, it will become more powerful as it advances, and this could be used to create more value for the service. If ChatGPT can be used to automate customer service conversations, then it could become incredibly valuable as a free service. Automating customer service conversations could reduce the cost of customer service by eliminating the need to hire customer service agents. Customers would be able to get the help they need quickly and easily via automated conversations. This could increase customer satisfaction, and make ChatGPT a valuable free service. On the other hand, if ChatGPT becomes too smart, it could make the service less valuable. For instance, if t

As an AI language model developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT has been designed to assist users in generating text based on patterns it has learned from large amounts of text data. It is not meant to replace search engines like Google, which have a different primary function of searching and indexing the Internet to provide users with relevant information based on their search queries. ChatGPT can complement search engines by providing more specific, in-depth answers and explanations, especially in situations where search results may be too general or hard to understand. However, it's not capable of indexing the Internet like search engines, and it may not always have the most up-to-date information. In conclusion, while ChatGPT can be a helpful tool for generating text, it is not designed to replace

As long as the complete text is entered into ChatGPT, then it can be summarized. You could refer to it as something like an essay or article in the instruction so that label will allow the content to be recalled again later on. If the app is asked whether it can summarize, it will deny that it can. But this is actually like GPT-3 with the chat interface. The relevant models there included Davinci and Curie. If told to summarize a Wikipedia page by URL or topic, the chatbot would balk when the others make that up. Try various types of summary, e.g. one sentence, one paragraph, sentiment, thesis, conclusion, outline, descriptive, extractive, evaluative, abstract, synopsis, reasons, assumptions, theories, causes, implications, questions, nodes in a knowledge graph, or TL;DR. Here’s the problem with fads: they’re very difficult to judge. The bigger practical concern is the pattern of layoffs we’re seeing. It’s not devastating (not by a long shot), but it’s worrying. It will certainly cool off the rapidly rising salary market. Something had to. But with this and that and the other, we’re likely to see a decline in interest in undergrad computer science. After a decade of record increases in enrollment demand, again, something had to give. For someone like me, that’s a wee bit concerning, because there will be less demand for CS professors. There will also be a bigger available talent pool, since fewer people will be scooped up by industry. It’s unlikely to hit alarming or even truly concerning levels for a while. I don't think ChatGPT is necessarily biased because of its data set. While it's true that the data set can influence what ChatGPT learns and how it behaves, it doesn't necessarily mean that the data set is inherently biased. The data set ChatGPT uses is a collection of conversations and conversations between people, so the data is reflective of how people naturally talk and interact. This means that ChatGPT is learning the language and the nuances of conversation that are common in everyday life. So, if the data set is biased, it's likely because it reflects the biases that exist in the conversations that it's learning from. That said, ChatGPT does have the capacity to recognize when something is wrong or inappropriate. For example, it can recognize when a conversation is veering into offen

ChatGPT is designed to assist and augment human intelligence, not replace it. My discussion with OpenAI ChatGPT about AGI safety: What are OpenAI's values, mission, and vision? Values: OpenAI values transparency, collaboration, and responsible AI development. Mission: OpenAI's mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. Vision: OpenAI's vision is to create and promote friendly AI in a way that benefits humanity as a whole. Does that allow building The Borg from Star Trek? No, OpenAI's values and mission prioritize responsible AI development and ensuring that the benefits of AI accrue to all of humanity. Building an AI system like the Borg from Star Trek, which forcibly assimilates other beings into a collective, would be inconsistent with these values and mission. Which value(s) conflict with The Borg? Building an AI system like The

Why does ChatGPT consider Frederick Douglass's views as more aligned with left-libertarianism over right-libertarianism?

ChatGPT doesn’t consider anything. It is incapable of considering things. Deep learning models like ChatGPT, DALL-E, or CLIP are weak AIs: you may be fooled by just how well they can interpret your input and answer your queries, but they will always be dependent on the human doing the actual input before they can act on it. You can train a neural network to write music, but it will do fuck all by itself until you, personally, tell it to bang out a symphony. Such is the nature of weak AIs: they need to be commanded, are incapable of introspection, and cannot do several things at once. Now, why would a neural network think that Fred Douglass was not a “right-libertarian”? Perhaps it’s because he never advocated for abolition of government, for private McPolice, for NAPs, for child workers, a

As a language model, ChatGPT's main task is to generate human-like text based on the input it receives. However, it is not perfect and can fail in a number of ways. One way that ChatGPT can fail is by providing incorrect or irrelevant information. This can happen when the model lacks the necessary context or knowledge about a particular topic, or when the input provided is ambiguous or unclear. Another way that ChatGPT can fail is by generating text that is grammatically incorrect or difficult to understand. This can happen due to the limitations of the model's training data or the algorithm used to generate the text. Additionally, ChatGPT is a machine learning model, so it can also fail when it is given input that is outside of its training data distribution, or when it is given input that

ChatGPT watermarking works by embedding a statistical pattern, code, or series of numbers into the words and punctuation that are generated by AI itself. This code is designed to be undetectable so it appears as part of the normal patterns of word choice in the generated content. This watermarking system takes advantage of pseudorandomness, which is when a person or an AI program generates a statistically random sequence of words that appears to be random but are actually predetermined. The distribution of these words must still have a random appearance similar to what would be expected if the text had been created with AI alone. The series of words used as the watermark must also be randomly distributed across sentences, paragraphs and other parts of generated text. By using pseudorandomne

There are many mysteries about the universe that are still yet to be solved, and new discoveries are constantly being made. However, some of the biggest mysteries that remain include: 1. Dark Matter and Dark Energy: Despite its dominant presence, dark matter and dark energy remain completely mysterious and are still not understood. Scientists believe that they make up over 95% of the total matter-energy content of the universe, but their exact nature and properties are unknown. 2. Origin of the Universe: The origin of the universe is still one of the greatest mysteries in science. The Big Bang theory explains the early expansion of the universe, but it does not explain what caused the singularity or what came before it. 3. Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity: Despite their immense success in exp
