Google is facing a lawsuit from the family of Philip Paxson, a man who tragically drowned after his car plunged off a collapsed bridge while he was following Google Maps directions.

The family alleges that Google was aware of the bridge's condition but failed to update its navigation system.

Despite multiple reports from concerned individuals notifying Google about the bridge's collapse over the years, the company apparently took no meaningful action to address the issue.

Paxson's widow, Alicia Paxson, expressed her frustration at the lack of regard for human life shown by those responsible for GPS directions and the bridge's maintenance.

The lawsuit also points out that there were no barriers or warning signs on the road leading to the bridge.

Google has responded by expressing sympathy for the Paxson family and stating that they are reviewing the lawsuit.
