Artificial Intelligence: Microsoft Ready To Buy The Artificial Intelligence And Voice Technology Company Nuance Communications Inc. For $ 16 Billion

Microsoft has already been working with Nuance since 2019 on various projects.
Microsoft is not far from making a very ambitious acquisition. According to a source close to the file cited by the Bloomberg agency, the American IT giant is in advanced discussions to buy the artificial intelligence and voice technology company Nuance Communications Inc.
The transaction price would reach around $ 16 billion (€ 13.4 billion). This amount under discussion would value Nuance at around $ 56 per share, the source said. The transaction could be announced as early as Monday.
Two years of collaboration on AI
Nuance, based in Burlington, Mass., Has voice recognition technology that helped launch Siri, Apple's voice control application. The company produces software for sectors ranging from healthcare to the automotive industry.
The acquisition of Nuance would be Microsoft's second largest acquisition after LinkedIn , in 2016, for $ 26.2 billion.
Microsoft and Nuance have been cooperating since 2019, particularly in the medical field. Nuance achieved sales of $ 1.48 billion for its fiscal year ended September 30, 2020. The group posted positive net income of $ 91 million after a loss of $ 217 million in the previous fiscal year.
