Ways To Beat Brain Fog And Get Over That Afternoon Slump.
By Aditi Maheshwari | YEET MAGAZINE | Posted 0432 GMT (1232 HKT) May 26 2021
We all experience a lack of drive occasionally but brain fog is much more than that, it’s a medical condition referring to reorientation of brain function over time.
Prodrome characteristics are: - Fatigue, Sleeping Disorders, Distraction, Enervation, Constant Headaches, and Forgetfulness etc. In extreme cases you may feel nausea and problems with your vision.
Reasons leading to brain fog can be found in our simple ignorance’s such as over-consumption of sugar, depression, bacterial overgrowth, nutrient deficiency, sleep disorders, thyroid condition, improper digestive system, increased stress levels, not enough workout, improper food habits, etc.
The way we usually numb brain fog is by consuming an extra doze of coffee or snacks to stay awake.
HOW TO BEAT BRAIN FOG???
1) GET ENOUGH SLEEP
By enough sleep I don’t mean a specific no. of hours but what really matters is the quality of sleep. When your body does not go through full REM cycles, it prevents your brain from regenerating itself the next day.
2) BE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE
Movement is a medicine in itself. Consistency will reap fruitful rewards in this case. Being physically active is one of the ingredients for dynamic and creative intellectual activity. Its great stress reliever and it provides other health benefits as well.
3) FEED YOUR BRAIN
Meditation even for few minutes will prove to be a great appetizer for the brain. Rewire your brain to focus more by surrounding yourself in a calm and peaceful environment with light music, where you can get your creative juices flowing with whatever appeals to you. Give yourself timely breaks as well to improve your performance.
4) EAT CORRECTLY
Eat healthy stuff in timely intervals during the day for best results. Protein rich diet is highly recommended. Make sure you get enough nutrients in the food you choose for yourself. Worst news of all is to limit your caffeine intake.
5) WALK IN THE SUN
Going outside for a casual walk during your working hours just for a few minutes will improve your output drastically. Also, Vitamin D has great benefits for your brain health.
In a nutshell, your lifestyle has great impact on your output in life.
